Chinese New Year (Spring Festival), the first day of year 2012 of the Chinese Lunar Calendar, falls on January 23 in 2012. The New Year celebration lasts 15 days, and ends with the Lantern Festival.
You don’t have to be in China to enjoy the arrival of the year of the Dragon. Join the festivities in Vancouver and give the year a happy start.
Chinese Benevolent Association of Vancouver is hosting a parade on Sunday, January 29, followed by the Spring Festival & Cultural Fair at Sun Yat-sen Plaza (50 East Pender Street), from 11am - 5pm. This is probably the most popular event, so be prepared to see lots of new friends.
