Last week we discussed a few of the prestigious post secondary educational institutions within a few minutes drive from FOSTER. This week we’re taking a look at the great local schools that fall within the West Coquitlam catchment: 

Elementary:

k-5 Roy Stibbs Elementary

Roy Stibbs Elementary is an 8-mintue walk from FOSTER. In addition to the regular programs you can find at any other elementary schools, Roy Stibbs has a Strong Start Centre at Roy Stibbs, where families and children from birth to school age can come together for afternoons of fun and learning together.

Middle:

Grades 6-8 Banting Middle School (French Immersion)

Banting Middle School offers a full complement of exploration subjects, a band and choir program and a variety of athletic activities. It is around 18 mintues from FOSTER or a 12-minute bus ride. 

FOSTER is also close to one of BC’s top private schools, Queen of All Saints Elementary, ranking a perfect 10/10 by the Fraser Institute in 2010.

Secondary:

Grades 9-12 Port Moody Secondary

Only a 7-minute drive from FOSTER, Port Moody Secondary offers the International Baccalaureate Program (IB), providing students a global opportunity to higher education. Students in this program receive university credit for their IB courses, which are recognized worldwide.

Grades 9-12 Dr. Charles Best (French Immersion)

Dr. Charles Best strives to provide the best possible learning environment for their students. As a French Immersion school, it also offers a wonderful opportunity for students to develop strong communication skills in both English and French. It is a 10-minute drive from FOSTER.
