At WESTWOOD we wanted to find out just how convenient our bridgeless commute is. Time for a ROAD TRIP! 

WESTWOOD is just minutes away from Highway 1 and from there it’s not much further to go anywhere in the Lower Mainland. We hopped on the road at 7 am, 12pm noon, and 4 pm to see just how short a trip it is between WESTWOOD and Metrotown, Downtown Waterfront, and Richmond.

 

Metrotown is just a quick drive away on Highway 1 via the Willingdon exit. Going southbound on Willingdon Ave, you will pass by BCIT as you drive to your destination. For all of our transit riders, the 169 Braid Stn bus picks you up at Lougheed Hwy and Como Lake Ave and takes you to the Braid Stn skytrain where you can connect to Metrotown. Travelling between Greater Vancouver from WESTWOOD will soon become even more transit friendly with the new Evergreen Line that is coming to Coquitlam.

• 7 am – 30 Minutes
• 12 noon – 25 Minutes
• 4 pm – 25 Minutes

Travelling to Waterfront Station in Downtown Vancouver is a quick trip along Highway 1 via the East Hastings Street exit. Continue a few more kilometres eastbound along Hastings Street and you will reach your destination. Alternatively, you can hop on the West Coast Express and you’ll be downtown in no time.

• 7 am – 40 Minutes
• 12 noon – 30 Minutes
• 4 pm – 35 Minutes

The trip to the Vancouver Airport (YVR) in Richmond is amazingly easy. Get off Highway 1 at the 40A - Brunette Ave S exit, connect to BC 91-W Highway by passing through New Westminster, and it will take you into Richmond. If you want to leave your car at home, board the West Coast Express and arrive at the Waterfront. From there it’s a short trip to YVR on the new Canada Line.

• 12 noon – 35 Minutes
• 4 pm – 40 Minutes
