Every year around this time I prepare myself for the new spring season by undergoing a massive spring cleaning in my home to welcome the warmer weather. Today, I am going to give a few pointers on how to best spring clean in your WESTWOOD home in order to keep it in top notch shape. First let's start with the laminate wood flooring in the homes at WESTWOOD. A recommended product which our cleaning crews utilize prior to your move in is Armstrong Hardwood and Laminate Floor Cleaner. This easy-to-use cleaner is a good choice when used with a clean flat mop for spot cleaning or to use all over.

 

To keep the stainless steel kitchen appliance package (fridge, microwave, stove, dishwasher) that comes with your home looking snazzy, I like to wipe them with stainless steel cleaning wipes.

 

I strongly suggest that you wipe with the ‘grain’ of the stainless to help prevent any scratching or marring. I also recommend NOT using any abrasive-type cleaners on any of the items inside your home. This includes products such as Comet, Dutch, Ajax, or Vim with powder.

 

Now onto maintaining the tiles in our entry ways, bathrooms and the kitchen backsplash. To start, sealing the grout on all tilework will go a long way. When you do this, you provide the grout surfaces greater resistance against water and mildew. You'll be patting yourself on the back later on when cleaning becomes that much easier because unsealed tile grouts absorb grease, dirt, and grime which makes it very difficult to clean. Ensure first that all grout surfaces are clean prior to sealing. To clean your tiles, any good detergent should get the job done. I personally like Mr. Clean.
