Today I take a moment to introduce four of the new WESTWOOD homeowners and to share some of their thoughts about their WESTWOOD experience.
Johnny:
Johnny (seen above) was the very first purchaser at WESTWOOD. He is engaged to his fiancé and he had lined up overnight for two nights to guarantee them the home of their choice. (Holy smokes!)
“What was appealing about WESTWOOD was the location and price. When looking around the neighbourhood, it was affordable and reasonable. It’s a new and quality home so there is no need to sink money into renovations. We had looked at a home in PoCo listed at $324,000 but ... would probably have needed to put another $50,000 into renovations. What was exciting about WESTWOOD was the designs of the showhomes were very nice and the homes are great for starting out a family.”
Geoff & Marlene:
Geoff and Marlene have a family of three with their adorable daughter. They have been renting in the North Shore and were originally looking at high-rise concrete condos. They both have a background in design and are a hiking couple – going as often as every weekend before they had their daughter.

“WESTWOOD stood out to us because we were getting way more sq. footage at the same price as a condo. The location is very close to Marlene’s family and also close to the West Coast Express. We’ve done a test walk and it’s only 15 minutes to walk from here. It’s also very bike friendly. We did a test to check how close local shops and food are and it only takes a minute! Even though we drove out around 5 pm. Being from the North Shore, we like the trails nearby and it was a big bonus! Living here would be great for our baby being outdoors more. For a new family, WESTWOOD really suited us in being able to give us a quality home with a great amount of space. Having our own garage is exciting! We’ve never had that as rental residents. Comparing living in a high-rise condo to a townhome, we think that a high-rise would be a hassle because we’d have to lug our things up and down the building from the parking lot. The show suites were top notch and gave a great idea of potential and ideas. Just from going through all three [show homes], you already have a couple good ideas for colour schemes, the kitchen…you look at what you own and how the material will work in the home. We’re very excited to move in and turn this home into ours.”
Al:
“This is my third purchase and I just want to say it was the most pleasurable experience out of the three. I’ve never been out to Coquitlam until this summer for work and just fell in love with the location. Saw the ads that you guys posted up and searched up WESTWOOD online. Drove by the site a few times and really liked what I saw and the location. I found myself going onto your website a lot and wanting to purchase. I currently live in a condo and I wanted a bigger space. In a condo, I could literally hear my neighbor sneeze; it was awful. I had lived in a condo previously in Toronto before living in another one in Vancouver and I’m just done with that lifestyle. I also thought to myself that if I was going to move, I would only move if I could see myself living there for the next 10 years. The space you guys offer is incredible! Having the protected nature space was exciting to me and I liked the floor plans and the finishes. A personal garage was also a big factor; it’s rare to find that even with other townhome complexes. All elements combined with the price, it was a great incentive for me to buy at WESTWOOD and it has been a great experience."
It is hard to put into words how moving it is for me to hear these new homeowner stories. Congratulations to Johnny, Geoff & Marlene, and Al, and thank you for sharing this with us.
